The summer of 2021 at Mayan Cafe is featuring something fresh and new! We have partnered with a local social justice organization, Bo$$ Louisville, to feature up and coming Black chefs in Louisville. One Sunday a month, a chef takes over our kitchen, creating their own menu and executing it in our kitchen. It’s an educational experience for them as our chef/owner, Bruce Ucán and GM, Rebecca Osley, spend time working with each chef on how to cost their menu, prep in our space, plate the dishes and work through the flow of a busy service. Phelix Crittendon, owner of Bo$$, creates fun new cocktails in partnership with our beverage director, Michael Hanak.
The response from Louisvillians has been phenomenal as the first two dates sold out reservations in the first 24 hours of availability! Limited walk-in tables available day of the brunch.
