For the 2nd year in a row, the Mayan Cafe and Chef Bruce Ucán have won the Local Hero Award for Chef/Restaurant from Edible Magazine! We feel so incredibly honored that our loyal fans have chosen us again for this wonderful distinction. We are grateful that our customers share in our vision for local, sustainable food. Beginning in December of 2008, we have sourced our meat exclusively from local farms, and we use as much produce and cheese as is seasonally available, while remaining true to our Mayan roots. It’s been a wild ride, but each year, we are more and more committed to the idea of farm-to-table. This is how Chef Bruce grew up eating, and we simply believe it’s better food!
