On October 10, 2015, we had the distinct pleasure of catering Kristen & Kory’s wedding at Terrapin Hill Farm in Harrodsburg, KY. The farm is about an hour and a half drive from Louisville, but it’s a lovely drive so you don’t even notice the distance. This laid back couple wanted an outdoor/farm space where their friends could stay and camp after the reception so this was an amazing space for that. They began with a ceremony at the top of a hill, overlooking the countryside that was lit up with fall colors. This really set the tone for a special night. They started the party with several appetizers and a bar set with wine, beer & bourbon. Dinner included a quesadilla bar as well as two of our most popular vegetarian dishes – a chilaquile and our tok-sel lima beans.
The bride and groom had matching pea & carrot aprons and stood behind the buffet, serving the guests in a gesture of appreciation to their friends and family. It was personal touches like these that made the night so great. Kristen’s mom & aunts made several different kinds of pies along with a rum-spiced apple cider for dessert. A square dancing band and caller set the tone for a long night of dancing and fun. This beautiful location combined with such warm, happy people made for a very memorable night, and we were honored to be a part of it.
